In 1982, after more than a decade of working for another regional contractor, Ken Gunter made the decision to divert his limited resources to try and build an organization devoted to providing a more responsive and superior quality construction experience within the local market. This grand endeavor started with a huge leap of faith, one truck, one employee, and his life savings on the line. Almost 40 years later FBi Construction has grown exponentially and is currently a multifaceted contractor and construction manager headquartered in Florence, SC with a regional office in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Currently, FBi Construction is in its second generation of leadership with Kyle Gunter serving as President and Kent Gunter serving as Executive Vice President. Prior to joining FBi Construction full-time in 1998 and 2000 respectively, both Kent and Kyle spent a significant number of years in various roles within the construction industry both pre and post secondary education. From an early age they both received extensive field experience that transitioned into carpenter, superintendent, project manager and ultimately leadership roles within the company. In addition, their younger brother, Kacy Gunter, serves in a Project Manager role.

Historically FBi Construction’s client base has included Industrial, Faith Based, Government, Commercial, K-12 Education, Medical, and Higher Education institutions. FBi Construction continues to build upon the firm foundation established in 1982 and is currently one of the most reputable and respected regional contracting firms in both SC and NC.
